BC Bike Race 20th Anniversary
Celebrating 20 years of unforgettable singletrack, the BC Bike Race once again brought riders into Vancouver Island’s wild coastal terrain for a week of grit, community, and epic racing.
My job was simple in theory: photograph every rider, every day. In reality, that meant covering nearly 850 riders across 7 days of racing.
The challenge was finding locations and compositions that could:
• Showcase the incredible terrain and trail features that make Vancouver Island riding so unique
• Capture riders of all abilities in the same frame—from the 10-time world champion to those lining up for their first-ever bike race
• Keep every race plate visible for post-race image sales
The result was long days on course, followed by even longer nights behind the computer. It was a demanding week, but an incredibly rewarding one.
A huge shoutout to the entire BCBR media team, whose hard work and dedication helped bring the story of this milestone year to life.
