A Day on the Water with Campbell River Whale Watching

Last week I had the opportunity to jump on a last minute boat with my friends at Campbell River Whale Watching. We were lucky enough to encounter whales as soon as we left the marina, and the sightings didn’t stop for most of the day! Our captain referred to these types of days as Whale Soup days, which I thought was catchy.

We saw both orcas and humpbacks close to shore, which allowed me to incorporate some of the BC coastal landscape in the images. Overall, it was a fantastic day. I snapped photos but also just enjoyed watching the wildlife a lot of the time. Each and every encounter with these amazing creatures is so unique and exhilarating.
